The way you have entwined the roots of the tree around the arms is incredible too. Just can't wait to see more work! Vilhelmina Ullemar Lönnbom replies: "I'm sure you can -learn- to do that, in any case. I really had never tried it seriously before this picture, but then I read this lovely tutorial on how to draw bird-like wings, and some of it just stuck. Thank you for your comment, I hope to see you around! "

Her body looks very natural, did you use any sort of reference? One small suggestion, adding a shadow at the bottom gets rid of that she’s floating look. Vilhelmina Ullemar Lönnbom replies: "Thank you! And actually, I didn't have any reference for this, but it was very late at night. That's usually when I lose control over the logical half of my brain (well, relatively speaking, of course) and can set the creative one free. And you're right about the shadow - I probably should've thought of that myself, but as I said, late nights. They have both their good and not so good sides, apparently. Thanks for the comment, anyway!"

Vilhelmina Ullemar Lönnbom replies: "Now that you mention it I have heard a lot of thos legends and it’s not entirely unlikely that I was somehow subconciously inspired. ;D"
